The gist of the Complaint : Translated from Marathi to English on best effort basis.
The Complainant, aged 55yrs, resides alone at the above mentioned address since 7 yrs on rent, presently living with daughter- Manasvi Manoj Kadam, aged 31 years, grandson- Sairaj Manoj Kadam, aged 11 years. The Complainant’s husband died few years ago, the pension received for her husband, supports the family livelihood .
The Complainant sometimes go for a morning walk in the morning or evening as time permits. The Complainant wear regularly an old gold chain weighing approximately 10 gram (one tola) with a Ganapati pendant in the shape of an almond, around her neck. On 23/06/2022 the Complainant left her residence for morning walk around 08:30 am. while walking towards Saat rasta, around 08:50 hours, whenshe reached Bapurao Jagtap Marg, Byculla (W.) in front of Dagdi Chawl, one of the three unknown persons who were already standing at the place called her, when the Complainant went near them, one of them was checking the chain of an unknown person and then returned it, as soon as the chain was returned, the said unknown person left the place. Then one of accused (of three unknown persons) , aged about 35 to 40 years, wearing a white floral shirt, khaki pant and a black cap on his head, said that he was a policeman, and someone had stabbed a woman and removed the chain from her neck, and the said women was admitted to the hospital, therefore he advised her to keep her gold chain inside bag , so the Complainant removed a gold chain of her neck and put it in her hand bag and nervously walked towards her residence, Then one of accused (of three standing unknown persons) called her again and asked her about carat of gold used in her chain and then asked her to show it. so the Complainant took it from the bag and showed it to him, one of accused (of three standing unknown persons) took it from her hand and pretended to put it in her bag with his own hand and immediately one of them , wearer of black jacket, blue jeans pant and a white cap on his head, approximately 25 to 30 years old person left on a motorbike. Also, the third person who was with them ran away towards the station. At that time, the Complainant seeing her chain in his hand, realized that on the pretext of checking , they ran away without returning it, thus shouted loudly “thief, thief “ , by which people gathered around. The Complainant therefore have come to the police station to file a complaint against said unknown accused who conspired to stole her gold chain by deceiving her , by pretending to be the police.
The Complainant confirmed that she can recognize her stolen item if it is somehow brought before her. The description of the stolen item is as follows.

Police Registered the case and took up the investigation The case is being investigated by the Police officer namely Mr. Yogendra Pache.
The Complainant’s statement was recorded in Marathi ( gave copy of the same to him) and it was explained to him in Hindi and he confirmed the same.
